What happens if you have no schedules on a device? Showing a blank screen can definitely hurt your brand so to help, we’ve added the Failover option to your scheduling options. Think of it as a background or as default media if there is nothing else assigned to that device to display.
Tip: You should always have failover content on your displays in case there is an oversight or error. The failover screen should be brand friendly and offer neutral content such as your logo, weather, clock, etc.

Access & Setup
- From the CMS Dashboard, (1) hover over “Publish” then (2) click on “Schedule & Publish”.
- Once the Publish module loads, (3) select the content you would like to publish to the failover displays.
- After you’ve chosen your content, under the (4) Schedule Time section, (5) click the gear icon and (6) select the “Failover” option. This will set any scheduled content as the failover content for your player.
Note: You can only have one failover schedule per device.
- Lastly, (7) toggle which devices you would like to play the failover content on then (8) save your schedule to finish the setup process.
Confirm Your Schedules
- If you’d like to confirm which failover schedules you are currently using, hover over the “Publish” module again and select “Schedule Timeline”.
- From here you’ll be able to (9) view the currently active timed schedules (in purple) & the failover schedules (in orange).
- If you need to edit, view, or delete your failover schedules, simply (10) click the three dots to the right of the module to access the drop-down menu.
