One of the most important parts of your digital signage network are the players that run your content.
On the Mvix CMS, you’ll be able to view various aspects of your device(s) status such as the alias, status, OS version, and other important information. You will also be able to change between views to help organize your overall network.
The Device Library
From the navigation bar, hover over “Devices” & click on “Device Library” to be brought to the above screen (f you see another view, click on the three lined option located near (8)). This library will have the following information:
- (1) – A search & filter option to help you find specific players
- (2) – The name of your device. The top text is the alias of your player while the subtext is the system name for your player. You can adjust the name by (9) clicking the three dots on the far right side of the player row.
- (3) – The current app shows the current software application version on the device. If there is an update to a specific player, you’ll see a green button right below the current version. Click on that to proceed with updating your device.
- (4) – This is the current OS version of your player. Outdated version will have a red exclamation mark next to them notifying you that security updates are limited and playback performance may also be affected.
Important Note: Keeping devices updated helps ensure security compliance. These device upgrades are provided for free for Mvix Signature Care Clients.
- (5) – This is the current Browser version your player is currently running.
- (6) – Here is where you will see the current Device Package of your player.
- (7) – The current status of your players will be located here. These statuses include:
- Active – The player is currently connected to the network
- Inactive – The player could be showing cached content but it is currently not connected to the CMS via the internet.
- Dormant – The device has been inactive for 60+ days and will no longer be shown in the standard view.
- Disabled – The device is unable to be authenticated with the Mvix CMS. The device will prompt “Authentication Failed” and give activation information. Please note that there is a “Disabled by System” notification you will see on hover that only occurs when a device has been inactive for 500+ days.
- (Please note that Dormant & Disabled devices will be hidden from the standard device library unless explicitly filtered for)
- (8) – The different view & filtering options for your devices will be located here. You have three choices for views:
- List View – This is the view shown above and offers a simple overview of your players and other information
- Grid View – This view gives a basic overview of the player name and status.
- Location View – This extensive view allows you to group devices based on location and shows basic stats for each player.
- (9) – Clicking on these three dots lets you add, remove, or change the different columns in list view.
- (10) – If you would like to either tag or manually update a selected group of players, simply check the chosen players and click on the corresponding icon.
At the top-right of the device library, you may see the above icons depending on what plan you have.
- Offline Settings: Create notification settings for all or individual devices. These will be sent to the chosen users as well as the frequency for when notifications will be sent.
- Groups: Create groups to help organize players by selected criteria such as locations or use-case.
