One of the questions we regularly get is how can client’s showcase their digital signage content to employees who work remotely.
With the Mvix Virtual Player, you’ll be able to create and schedule content just like any other player, but you’ll also be given a URL to share your content.
What You’ll Need:
- An Mvix Virtual Player added to your account
- Mvix CMS Software with a supported feature package
- Internet Connectivity
If you meet the requirements listed above, simply follow the steps below:
Editing Your Virtual Player
- 1. From your device library, locate the Virtual Player you would like to edit.
- 2. Hover over the three dots on the far right.
- 3. Click “Edit”.

This will bring you to the edit screen below. From here:
- 4. If you would like to adjust the Alias, Description, Groups, or Tags, click the pencil icon and begin making your changes.
- 5. If you would like to select a specific “Screen Orientation”, you can adjust it by clicking the pencil icon and selecting from the drop down.
- Note: We recommend keeping the Screen Resolution to “Auto”.
- Once you are satisfied with your changes, click “Update” to save.

Finding The Shared URL
- 1. From your device library, hover over the three dots on the virtual player.
- 2. Then select the “Virtual Player” option from the popup.

- The popup below will now show in the center of your screen. This is the URL that you will be able to share to showcase your content.
- Simply copy, share, and open in your browser to view the content you have scheduled on the player itself.

Confirm Browser Settings
Due to security configurations on Chrome & Firefox browsers, you will first need to adjust the settings within the browser to get videos with audio to play properly.
Chrome
First you will need to access Chrome Settings:
- Open Chrome on your computer
- Click the three dots in the top-right corner to open the menu, then select “Settings”
- Click on “Privacy and Security”, then “Site Settings”
From there, you will need to adjust the sound settings:
- Under “Content”, click on “Additional Content Settings”
- Select “Sound” from the list of options
- Here you can choose to allow sound for all sites, or allow sound for specific websites by selecting “Allow” from the dropdown menu for the desired site
- Adding as [*.]cms.mvix.com will allow auto-play with audio from any Virtual Player
Firefox
With Firefox, you are able to select permissions for each site directly from the browser window as well as from the settings.
Browser Window

- At the top of the browser window, beside the URL, click on the (1) permissions settings button
- Then, (2) click on the “Block Audio” and (3) select “Allow Audio and Video”
Settings Menu
- Click on the three horizontal lines at the top-right of the browser window and select “Settings” near the bottom of the drop-down
- On the left, click on “Privacy & Security”
- Scroll down to “Permissions” and click on “Settings” beside “Autoplay”. A new popup window will display.
- At the top, click on “Block Audio” and select “Allow Audio and Video” from the drop-down.
- Lastly, click “Save Changes”
