If you would like to display a spreadsheet on your digital signage screen(s), the Table feature in Mvix CMS gives you the capability to do so. According to Zoho, a spreadsheet is a simple tool that helps you create, organize, and analyze data. Spreadsheets feature cells, which are boxes where you can input data. There are also worksheets that you can make and as a whole, it makes a workbook. Data
A spreadsheet can serve various purposes including:
- Creating and Maintaining a list
- Simple Calculations
- Storing and sharing data
- Data Visualization
Data can be used for a variety of purposes including keeping stock of products and/or supplies in healthcare facilities, KPIs and key metrics in corporate offices, storing and calculating grades for educational institutions, tracking spending for government institutions, and more.
There are three ways that you can display a table through Mvix CMS v3:
- You can use our Inline Editor in Mvix CMS to create your spreadsheet from our software to be uploaded
- You can use import your own spreadsheet by using our Import File option on our CMS
- Through the Weeb Feed, you can pull a spreadsheet from a URL to be displayed on your digital signage
If you would like to create your spreadsheet outside of Mvix CMS, Microsoft Powerpoint, Google Sheets, and Spreadsheet.com are other options to consider.
What You’ll Need:
- A compatible digital signage player e.g. Mvix, BrightSign, etc.
- Mvix CMS V3 Access
- Internet Connectivity
- Access to the Tables feature
Adding Tables to Your Account
- Hover over the “MEDIA” tab and click “ADD MEDIA”.
- Click on the “GENERAL” category.
- Click the “TABLES” app.
- From here we have three options to manage Tables data:
- Inline Editor
- Import File
- Web Feed
- With the Inline Editor, you can directly modify the cells as you would like, such as in the above image.
- Second is our Import option, where you can export any previously created spreadsheet as a CSV, XML, or JSON file, and upload it directly here. The widget will pull the information from the file and populate the cells for you. You can also click on the file type buttons to download a sample version of each.
- Last is our Web-feed import option. This is similar to the previous option, as you can still use an exported file, but this one will be pulled from a URL instead of needing to be manually uploaded. This means this file will update from the URL instead of CMS, and can automatically display changes made to the spreadsheet as the file is updated.
