Introduction

Schaumburg is a community of about 75,000 people, about 30 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. A hub of business and industry in the northwest suburbs, its daytime population swells to over 150,000 people.

The Challenge

The Village of Schaumburg needed to display customized information for residents and visitors across various sign locations.

Deployment & Usage

As a part of this installation, the digital signage display screens are being configured to provide customized information to residents, visitors, and commuters based on the various sign locations. Furthermore, the cloud-based management software is being utilized to remotely and dynamically manage informational content on all screens throughout the day.

The first phase of the digital signage installation is expected to last about 3 months. In addition to the normal municipal operations, the village owns and/or operates a minor league baseball stadium, commuter rail station, regional airport, performing arts center, and a convention center that includes a 500-room hotel, and 150,000 sq. feet exhibition space. Moreover, Schaumburg is home to the Woodfield Shopping Center, one of the largest indoor malls in America. Implementation of the entire network across all facilities of Schaumburg will span over a two-year period.

Why It Worked

Commenting on the adoption of Mvix digital signage solutions, Jack Netter, Assistant Director for Cultural Services, stated; “Technically, the system has been flawless.
