For many organizations, user roles play a crucial role in managing access and maintaining operational efficiency. They ensure that each user has access only to the modules and resources necessary for their specific role, minimizing security risks and increasing efficiency. By assigning clear roles, organizations can streamline workflows, enhance collaboration, and safeguard sensitive information.
Mvix CMS currently has the following user roles:
Client Admin
The Client Admin has full control & edit privileges for both the account & all users/admins involved. All accounts must have at least one Client Admin who will be able to:
- Add/Remove Users & Permissions
- Control & View Devices
- Add, Edit, & Delete Media/Playlists/Templates
- Publish content to players
- Create & View Reports
- Set up Account Settings such as 2FA & SSO
Client User
Client Users are more of a “blank slate” than a specific role. Client Admins will need to set permissions when a user is created (users can not log in with no permissions set) and can be customized to that specific user.
Content Creator
Content Creators focus mainly on the media creation & editing for the digital signage process. This involves uploading pictures/videos or making content via apps such as weather or news.
From there, Content Creators can make playlists or templates using media on the account.
However, they will not be able to publish this media to the account, manage devices, or control accounts or users.
Device Manager
This role is popular to branches of organizations who have displays that show consistent content across multiple locations.
However, users at these locations will still need to be able to manage the devices that are on-location. They will be able to preview what’s on the devices, view device health reports, & initiate reboots or updates.
Publisher
One of the most critical roles is Publisher. This user is responsible for confirming the content set to be published is ready, then schedule them to the correct players at the right times.
However, they are unable to manage devices, content aspects of Mvix CMS, or account/user settings.
