Similar to smart playlists, Smart Schedules are a tag based method to easily group your media into a schedule. This feature is perfect for organizations that regularly update content but don’t want the hassle of having to manually adjust each schedule.
The overall method of this feature is that the Smart Schedule will pull all media with a specific tag into a separate schedule. This schedule then will be tied to devices that have the same tag.
Essentially, this means that only devices with the tag will play the tag based smart schedule.
What You’ll Need
- An Active Mvix CMS Account
- A Signature Care Account
- Internet Connectivity
- The tags being used for the Smart Schedule
Device Setup
- First, we recommend you add the tags to the devices.
- From the (1) “Devices” module, select “Device Library” to view all the devices on your account.
- Find the (2) device(s) you would like to attach to a smart schedule.
- Then, (3) hover over the three dots on the right and (4) click on “Edit”.
- On the “Edit Device” page, (5) click the pencil icon in the “Device Information” box to enable editing.
- After, go to the (6) Tags field and add the tags you would like associated with the player. Please note: the smart schedule will not play unless all tags are added in this field.
- Once you have added the desired tags, (7) click “Update” to finalize the device setup.
Add A Smart Schedule
- To access the module, (1) hover over “Publish” and select “Smart Schedules”.
- Then, (2) add the tag to the “Match All” field. Once your tag is entered, click on (3) “Build Schedule” to pull all the media items into the Media box.
Best Practices: To avoid any issues when it comes to automatically assigning media to multiple devices, we recommend that you only have one tag per smart schedule or device.
- From here, (4) you’ll be able to adjust settings such as:
- “Shuffle” in the gear icon in the top-right
- Manually change individual media settings from the individual gear icons
- Set the default transition in the bottom left
- And preview the playlist by clicking “Preview” on the bottom right.
- If you’d like to have this schedule only play at certain times, you can (5) adjust the settings in the “Schedule Time” section.
- Lastly, (6) you’ll see the separate schedules that will be playing for the tags here. Each line item will have a Number that lists the devices with the specific tag. Hovering over the number will list the individual devices.
- Once you are satisfied with the setup of your Smart Schedule, (7) click on “Save Schedule” to begin the process.
Important Note: Smart Schedules are retroactive when it comes to device playback. Essentially, this means that when you add a tag to a device, the smart schedule will automatically play on that device.
